Tech Tip: Proper Storage for Street Sweeping Tube Brooms

← Back to Resources

Proper storage of your street sweeping tube brooms is critical to maintaining their performance and extending their lifespan. Here are some simple tips to ensure your brooms are ready for peak performance when you need them

1- Store in a Dry, covered area

Protect your brooms from exposure to moisture and direct sunlight, which can weaken the bristles and cause warping of the core. A dry, sheltered storage area helps prevent rust on cores and deterioration of materials.

2- Keep Brooms Upright

Always store brooms upright to prevent bristles from becoming crushed, bent, or deformed. Avoid stacking brooms directly on top of one another, as this can lead to uneven wear and damage.

3- Avoid Extreme Temperatures

Prolonged exposure to extreme heat or cold can compromise the durability of the broom’s materials. Maintain a consistent, moderate temperature in your storage space for optimal longevity.

4- Rotate Stock

Practice first-in, first-out (FIFO ) method of inventory management  Use older brooms first to avoid long- term storage issues.

5- Inspect Before Use

Before installing stored brooms, check for signs of damage. This proactive step ensures your broom performs effectively during operation.
